The Rocket Mortgage: A Break for Many but Not on DraftKings
Reignmakers Picks for Detroit Golf club
Before we take a look at the Rocket Mortgage, let’s review last week.
Patrick Cantlay ($2.29, offer at $1.35) - T5
Viktor Hovland ($1.55, offer at $0.99) - T20
Sam Burns ($1.28, offer at $0.68) - T55
Tommy Fleetwood ($1.25, offer at $0.74) - 15
Russell Henley ($0.97, offer at $0.48) - T48
Brian Harman ($0.86, offer at $0.41) - T9
Sepp Straka ($0.78, offer at $0.41) - T23
Tom Kim ($0.68, offer at $0.36) - 2
Spiking Tom Kim and getting a steady performance from Cantlay definitely would have gone a long way with your lineups this week. Burns and Henley were disappointing unfortunately but most of the picks would have well outplayed their price tags. On to Detroit Golf Club!

For the pros, Detroit Golf Club is one of the easier tracks they will play this year. The rough is not very penal at all so the repercussions of inaccuracy are not a real issue. However, being a short course as well it brings tons of players into the mix, making the need to putt well very important. The lack of challenge brings a lot more randomness into a tournament like this so recent form and a hot putter will be crucial.
Here are a few options for this week. With some, it can be kept in mind that there will be a Fall season for those that don’t have their top 50 locked up for next year, so there will be additional value in some plays who may have a more active second half of the year than some of the stars of the game will.
Maverick McNealy ($1.23, offer at $0.50)
McNealy has always been an excellent putter and long off the tee but in his return from injury, he has tightened the driver up and is now a gainer with the irons in recent weeks as well. This could be a great recipe for this course.
Taylor Pendrith ($0.87, offer at $0.37)
Pendrith seems to finally be unlocking his talent, which kicked off with a win and has now seen strong showings in Majors and the Signature events. His irons have always held him back but are in good form now. He also has great course history in this event.
Thorbjorn Olesen ($0.75, offer at $0.30)
Thunderbear’s game is starting to round in to form, with his length off the tee and excellent putting chops. His relative inaccuracy off the tee won’t hurt him much here and he will likely be playing well into the fall as he has a ways to go to lock up a card at this point for next year.
Ryan Fox ($0.57, offer at $0.21)
Fox is a true bomber off the tee who can spike putting as well. He had very high results at Myrtle Beach and the Canadian Open on shorter courses so I can see him potentially spiking here as well.
Matt Wallace ($0.37, no offer)
Wallace has been having a good campaign both here and on the DP World tour. He excels in these weaker events and his all round game includes the ability to spike on putting. He has a nice course history as well, so this price seems quite discounted.
Cam Davis ($0.33, offer at $0.25)
Davis has all the tools but doesn’t always seem to put them together. This option is more betting on pedigree for this former winner of this event as he is long off the tee and can get hot on and around the greens. His tee to green game has been middling recently so we are hoping for a return to a course where he has had great success over the last 3 years.
Best of luck this week and feel free to like, subscribe, comment and share!
