The Travelers: Some Respite After Pinehurst
Some Reignmakers options for TPC River Highlands
Before we look at the Travelers at TPC River Highlands, let’s look at how we did at a very exciting US Open:
Scottie Scheffler ($19.50, offer at $17.58) - T41
Collin Morikawa ($4.99, offer at $3.80) - T14
Viktor Hovland ($2.27, offer at $1.87) - MC
Tommy Fleetwood ($1.55, offer at $1.00) - T16
Russell Henley ($0.95, offer at $0.37) - T7
Matt Fitzpatrick ($0.93, offer at $0.50) - T64
Tom Kim ($0.75, offer at $0.60) - T26
Sungjae Im ($0.65, offer at $0.45) - MC
Mark Hubbard ($0.60, offer at $0.28) - T50
Brian Harman ($0.60, offer at $0.23) - T21
On the one hand, we had a lot of cut makers, especially at the low price points but we didn’t get any real spike performances other than Henley. The cream really rose to the top at Pinehurst as ARG the proved to be even more important than anticipated as the rounded greens played incredibly tough. Just an incredibly compelling tournament to watch though!

The Travelers has been a very a staple of the tour for years. This iteration of the tournament is no cut so you are looking for players who can score, even on their off
days. The course is short at under 7,000 yards, so distance is somewhat minimized as a contributing factor whereas the tree-lined fairways give a definite nod to accuracy. The course definitely plays as a second shot course but without the treachery around the greens that Pinehurst had. Hot putting certainly won’t hurt either.
Let’s look at some options for this week:
Patrick Cantlay ($2.29, offer at $1.35)
At this price, it would appear nobody is giving Cantlay much credit for his best Major performance ever. Cantlay has played very well here historically and it seems he has his ball striking back into form as he has been gaining across the page in all aspects the last couple of weeks. Compared to other elite options
Viktor Hovland ($1.55, offer at $0.99)
This is a bit of a flop lag play. Viktor got eaten up in Round 1 at the US Open with his around the green play but rebounded well in the second round to miss the cut on the number. His ball striking is well known and with ARG far less penal here, I would expect a rebound in performance here.
Sam Burns ($1.28, offer at $0.68)
Burns is coming off his best Major performance as well and his traditional spotty driver has become much more consistent, complementing an improved iron play and his historically strong putting. This price seems to be somewhat discounted considering all this.
Tommy Fleetwood ($1.25, offer at $0.74)
This seems like a perfect course for Tommy - fairways and greens and make a couple putts. Fleetwood does normally play well on course fits but his lack of winning pedigree somewhat caps the upside here.
Russell Henley ($0.97, offer at $0.48)
Brian Harman ($0.86, offer at $0.41)
Sepp Straka ($0.78, offer at $0.41)
Tom Kim ($0.68, offer at $0.36)
This last group are all a little light off the tee but very accurate, strong iron play and can all spike putting. Harman has great history here although, but all 4 can spike performances with a bit of win equity.
Best of luck this week! Feel free to like, comment, share and subscribe!
